The Real Cost of a Roadside Call: What Drivers Actually Pay

Sticker-rate isn't always what you pay. Here's what real bills look like across different scenarios.

5 min read

Our flat $100/hr rate with 1-hour minimum is the baseline. What drivers actually pay depends on what add-ons their specific call requires.

Simple call (jump-start, lockout, tire change finishing inside the hour): $100. That's the minimum, the maximum for most calls, and what most customers pay.

Call with fuel delivery: $100 + fuel at pump price. Three gallons of gas at $3.50/gallon = $110.50 total.

Call with tow past 5 miles included: $100 + per-mile rate × additional miles. Seven miles total = $100 + ($4/mile × 2 additional miles) = $108.

Call with battery replacement: $100 + battery at retail price. A Group 35 battery at $159 = $259 total. No markup beyond what the parts store would charge.

Quick Tips

  • Most calls finish at the $100 minimum
  • Add-ons (fuel, parts) are at cost, not marked up
  • Tow mileage past 5 miles at local market per-mile rate
  • Confirm the quote before the technician rolls
  • No after-hours, weekend, or holiday surcharges
