Exotic and high-performance vehicles (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche 911, McLaren, etc.) have low ground clearance, expensive bodywork, and specific tow requirements.
Approach angle problems: standard flatbed ramps are too steep for most exotics. The front splitter or air dam scrapes during loading. Specialty flatbeds with extended ramps or hydraulic tilt avoid this.
Enclosed trailers are sometimes needed for high-value exotics, especially for transport to dealer service. Open flatbed exposes the vehicle to weather and road debris during the tow.
Tie-down points are critical. Exotics often have specific tie-down points listed in the owner's manual. Random strap placement can damage suspension components or cosmetic pieces.
Insurance values matter. Standard tow insurance covers a typical vehicle's value. Exotic owners should confirm the tow operator's insurance covers the vehicle's actual value.
